About Ecstatic Dance

Ecstatic Dance is a free-form conscious dance meditation journey to curated music in a safe and conversation-free space.

Ecstatic Dance can be prayerful, invigorating, and/or transformational

when participants adhere to the following:

COVID-19 Safety Protocols:

  • nose/mouth masks REQUIRED
  • limited to 10 participants
  • social distancing must be maintained at all times
  • bring your own mug/water bottle

  1. Move however you wish -- as little, as much, however feels right for your body and your journey

  2. Respect yourself and one another

  3. No talking on the dance floor (only whispers off the floor)

  4. No alcohol or illegal drugs

  5. No street shoes on the dance floor. House shoes/slippers/warm socks are recommended in colder months.

  6. No photos, videos, or scents

  7. Dance alone and/or with another. Feel free to invite someone to dance -- and wait for a clear "YES" signal. But also respect any "NO", which might include just being ignored.

  8. Respect a solo dancer's right to space

  9. Arrive timely to respect the community -- latecomers may be turned away

  10. The dance is appropriate for ages 14+ unless specifically indicated as an "ALL-AGES" dance

You will be asked to leave if you do not adhere to these guidelines.

There is plenty of space to sit and relax off the dance floor whenever you may need a break. Some locations will have water, tea, and snacks available.

Ultimately, Ecstatic Dance is what you make of it!

According to www.ecstaticdance.org, Ecstatic Dance is

boundaries melt
boredom ceases
creativity breaks out
hope happens
beauty flows
communities collaborate
ritual is reinvented
harmony resonates
The beat deepens
as an electronic tapestry
of world rhythms
weaves us together
as individuals
within a greater family.
